CHASE ATLANTIC
BY KERENSA
A band that has performed on everything from clubs to a small stage at Warped Tour to Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza, Chase Atlantic has attracted a wide fan base with its blend of rock, R&B and pop, including on its latest album, which was released March 5.
Lead singer Mitchel Cave; rhythm guitarist and vocalist Christian Anthony; and lead guitarist, saxophonist and backing vocalist (and Mitchel’s older brother) Clinton Cave grew up in Cairns, Australia and years before the band was created, Mitchel Cave and Anthony had an early experience performing in front of a large audience when they competed together on the X Factor Australia in 2012 with three other singers in a boy band called What About Tonight.
Chase Atlantic released its first EP, Dalliance, in 2014, released a self-titled debut full-length album in 2017 and came out with its newest album, ‘Beauty In Death,’ in March.
The trio, whose flowy, largely R&B vibe is accentuated with everything from upbeat to dramatic instrumentals and catchy hooks, is currently based in Los Angeles and signed to Fearless Records.
Chase Atlantic’s other releases include the Nostalgic EP in 2015, Paradise (EP) in 2017 and PHASES in 2019.
Chase Atlantic’s most recent Sacramento appearance was in 2019 at Ace of Spades. Although no plans to tour stateside or overseas in the near future have been announced, the band announced a livestream, which they’ll perform July 9 from the Wiltern in L.A. on www.Veeps.com. Tickets are $15.
